Steve Jobs’s Top 9 Rules For Success

Steve Jobs is considered to be the “Father of the Digital Revolution,” a “master of innovation,” and a “design perfectionist.” He had a net worth of over $8 billion in 2010, making him one if the richest and most successful people in the world.

He’s Steve Jobs from Apple and here are his top 10 rules for success.

1. Don’t live a limited life

Jobs believes that you should fill your life with as many experiences and learn as many skills as you can. Even if at that time you don’t know why they will be useful, you will call upon them one day and find out why.

2. Have passion

Without passion, life can be very dry. Have something that you’re passionate about and stick to it. Passions make sure you stick to your path and you’re not easily swayed by meaningless distractions.

3. Design for yourself

Design something that you would want to own. Without considering anyone else, make sure you design a product or service for yourself first. If you love it, it will surely have a fan base.

4. Don’t sell crap

Ensure the quality of your product is of the highest standard. Don’t sell yourself short by selling crap.

5. Build a great team

You are the people you surround yourself with. This applies in business as in life. To be successful in business, you need to surround yourself with people who share your beliefs and passions.

6. Don’t do it for the money

As Jeff Bezos and Jack Ma have said, doing anything for the money is not sustainable, and in difficult times, when money is not necessarily forthcoming, you will lose motivation. Have a passion, a goal, or a cause that you’re working for. This will surely keep you going no matter what.

7. Be proud of your products

Be proud of what you do and what you create. You have achieved something, and even if it is still developing and improving, creating something from scratch is something to be proud of and should be celebrated.

8. Build around customers

Customers are number one. One similar principle among all of the successful people and mentors we’ve featured is that they focus on the customer. The customer is the number one priority, and their interests should always be the number one priority for any business who wants success.

9. Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish

Jobs believed that its on to be foolish from time to time. Jack Ma was known as the crazy guy for much of AliBabas early years, and Jobs believes that an element of foolishness is necessary for entrepreneurs. They don’t need to care about any distractions, and they should focus on their goals as apposed to appearing normal. The hunger should always be there, and should never diminish.
